Our Environment

Our business is based on one of the most renewable and environmentally sustainable building products available – wood.

The CO2 absorbed by trees as they grow is captured and retained in our products. Using the carbon calculator, an average sized wood based home absorbs 18 tonnes of CO2 versus a steel framed brick house which may emit 27 tonnes of CO2 up to the point of completed construction. Carbon Cycle

The wood we use comes from sustainably managed radiata pine plantations. It is grown specifically for wood product manufacture.

Our major log suppliers are large reputable organisations who hold certifications of environmental stewardship including Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Australian Forestry Standard Certification System (AFS).

The forestry activities are conducted under stringent environmental regulations including the New Zealand Resource Management Act and the Australian Natural Resource Management initiative.

We minimise our freight "footprint" where possible by sourcing raw materials from as close as possible to our facilities. Equally we service customers needs from our nearest production facilities.
